NODE EXCELLENCE

Terms for a trusted verification tool.

These terms govern your use of the Node Excellence authenticator application and related support. They allocate responsibility for local secrets, recovery, permissions, advertising, and third-party accounts.

TERM 01

Agreement and operator

These Terms form an agreement between you and Node Excellence Limited (“Node Excellence,” “we,” “us”). By installing or using the application, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the services.

TERM 02

Eligibility

The services are intended for people aged 17 or older. You must have legal capacity to accept these Terms and follow any rules imposed by your device platform, employer, school, or the external account for which you generate codes.

TERM 03

Limited licence

We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the application for lawful authentication purposes, subject to these Terms and applicable app-store rules. No ownership interest in the application or its content transfers to you.

TERM 04

Authentication entries and responsibility

You choose which QR codes or setup keys to import and must verify that each source is genuine. Protect your device, authentication secrets, verification codes, and any exported material from unauthorized access. Do not send a current secret or live code to support.

TERM 05

Recovery and local continuity

The application is a code generator, not the issuer of the external account or its recovery credentials. Keep separate recovery codes and follow the external provider’s recovery process. If a device is lost, an entry is deleted, or local storage is erased, we may be unable to restore access.

Before changing devices or removing the application, confirm that you have a safe recovery method for every connected service.

TERM 06

Permissions and device conditions

QR import may require camera permission. Some functions depend on device time, operating-system integrity, storage, and screen-lock settings. You control permissions through device settings, but denying a necessary permission may disable the related function.

TERM 07

Acceptable use

You may not reverse engineer except where law expressly permits, bypass security, introduce malicious code, overload services, misrepresent affiliation, infringe rights, use codes without authorization, or use the application to facilitate fraud or unlawful access. We may restrict service where reasonably necessary to protect users or systems.

TERM 08

Advertising and optional transactions

Supported versions may display advertising supplied by Google. Ads and linked offers are controlled by their providers, and an advertisement is not our endorsement. If a platform listing offers a paid download or optional purchase, pricing, billing, refunds, and transaction records are also governed by the app store’s rules and mandatory consumer law.

TERM 09

Third-party services

The application may work with QR codes and authentication standards used by independent services. Those services, app stores, Google advertising, device makers, and linked sites have separate terms and policies. We do not control their availability, account decisions, security incidents, or recovery procedures.

TERM 10

Intellectual property and feedback

The application, design, software, documentation, and Node Excellence marks are protected by intellectual-property laws. If you voluntarily provide feedback, you permit us to use it without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.

TERM 11

Updates, suspension, and termination

We may update, replace, or discontinue features for security, compatibility, legal, or operational reasons. You may stop using the services at any time. We may suspend access for material breach or risk. Terms that by nature should survive—including ownership, disclaimers, liability, and disputes—remain effective after termination.

TERM 12

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every external provider, or recovery of deleted authentication entries. Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded.

TERM 13

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Node Excellence is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or loss of data, codes, account access, revenue, or opportunity arising from use of the services. Any limitation applies only to the extent enforceable and does not cover liability that law does not allow us to limit.

TERM 14

Disputes and general terms

Applicable law governs these Terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes may be brought before courts with competent jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer rights. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. Delay is not a waiver. We may revise these Terms prospectively and will show the updated date.
